Cuba Township, located in Lake County, Illinois, USA, boasts a population of 16,826 as of the 2010 census. Originally named Troy Township, it was later renamed Cuba in support of the López Expedition of 1851 after discovering that the name Troy was already in use.

Covering an area of 24.2 square miles, with 1.4 square miles consisting of water bodies, Cuba Township offers a picturesque landscape dotted with lakes such as Davlins Pond, Grassy Lake, Honey Lake, Lake Barrington, Flint Lake, Lake Sheree, and North Tower Lake. Flint Creek meanders through the township, enhancing its natural charm.

Cuba Township is bordered by various other townships, including Wauconda Township to the north, Fremont Township to the northeast, and Ela Township to the east. It also shares borders with Palatine Township (Cook County) to the southeast, Barrington Township (Cook County) to the south, and Algonquin Township (McHenry County) and Nunda Township.

Major highways such as U.S. Route 14, Illinois State Route 22, and Illinois State Route 59 pass through the area, ensuring convenient transportation. Additionally, Freier Airport, although no longer operational, played a significant role in the community's history, serving as a grassroots runway created by Art Freier, an American Airlines pilot and farmer.
