However, students outside the attendance area must apply, and selection is done through a random computerized lottery. If priority groups exist, students in those groups are selected in the specified order.

Selections are based on descending total point order on a 900-point scale, with 450 points from the HSAT and 450 points from the final (cumulative) 7th-grade report card.
