At Heritage Elementary School, we serve a diverse community of over 400 students spanning from kindergarten through sixth grade. Our dedicated staff operates as cohesive Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), ensuring that every child's educational needs are met within their respective grade levels. Through our collaborative approach, known as the MTSS-WIN block, we provide tailored instruction in both reading and math, catering to students who require additional support and those ready to advance.

Our school prides itself on offering a wide array of educational opportunities and support programs. Aligned with Illinois Learning Standards, our curriculum emphasizes higher-level thinking skills, while our comprehensive special services ensure that all students, including those with special needs, receive the assistance they require. As a Dual Language School, we are committed to nurturing biliterate learners, serving both native Spanish-speaking and English-speaking students.

In our pursuit of academic excellence, we focus on developing literacy and mathematical proficiency through balanced literacy and Eureka Math programs. Utilizing Quantum Learning techniques, our staff keeps students highly engaged during instruction, while our transition towards inquiry-based learning fosters curiosity and critical thinking skills.

Data-driven instruction is a cornerstone of our approach, with common assessments informing targeted interventions to accelerate student learning. We integrate various technological resources to enhance the curriculum and engage students effectively.

Beyond academics, Heritage Elementary School offers a diverse range of extracurricular activities, including GEMS Club, S.T.E.M. Club, CODING Club, Book Clubs, Cooking Clubs, Office Helpers and Patrols, and Art Club. Childcare services are available before and after school through our partnership with the Right At School Program.

Our school spirit is embodied by our mascot, the American Eagle, and our colors, green and white. At Heritage Elementary School, we take pride in our collaborative efforts between staff, families, and the community to ensure the success of all our students.
