The western section of the West Town community in Chicago is often referred to as "Humboldt Park" or "East Humboldt Park," although it technically does not fall within the Humboldt Park Community Area. This 104-block region is bordered by Western Avenue to the east, Chicago Avenue to the south, North Avenue to the north, and the 208-acre Humboldt Park to the west. Locally, the area is sometimes called "East Humboldt Park/West Town" to differentiate it from the Humboldt Park Community Area located further west.

One of the most notable features of East Humboldt Park is Paseo Boricua, a vibrant half-mile stretch of Division Street between Western and California Avenues, which is marked by two towering 59-foot steel Puerto Rican flags. This stretch is a cultural hub, filled with Puerto Rican shops and eateries. The local community has actively engaged in community improvement initiatives to counteract the displacement effects of gentrification from nearby West Town, Wicker Park, and Ukrainian Village. Despite these efforts, Humboldt Park has become increasingly attractive to creatives, young professionals, and families previously priced out of adjacent neighborhoods like Wicker Park and Bucktown. In 2014, it was even named the "tenth-hottest" neighborhood in the United States by Redfin.

The area also boasts vibrant commercial stretches along North Avenue, known for its array of vintage clothing shops and mid-century furniture boutiques, and Augusta Avenue, which has become a destination for new and popular restaurants.
