Bristol, Illinois

Bristol, Illinois

Bristol, Illinois, is an unincorporated community located in Bristol Township, Kendall County, in the U.S. state of Illinois, situated just south of the Kane County border. It is surrounded by Oswego to the east, Montgomery to the north, and Yorkville to the south and west.

Bristol was originally known as Bristol Station until 1957 when it merged with nearby Bristol to form a single unified city with Yorkville. Following the merger, Bristol Station dropped "Station" from its name and became officially known as "Bristol." The community remains close to Yorkville, with its borders now just a mile away from the town center. With the growth of neighboring towns like Oswego, Yorkville, and Sugar Grove, Bristol may soon be annexed by one of these larger municipalities or become completely surrounded. Bristol features a small post office, bar, and train station near its center. In June 2008, Raging Waves, Illinois' largest water park, was constructed just north of Bristol.

Bristol is served by the Yorkville Community Unit School District 115, which includes Yorkville High School.
